14 degrees initial timing can be smelly because of lower EGT leaving a little fuel in the pipes, plus that stink can stay for weeks if you dont run the car hard even if you do fix it Rich at idle can be tough, you cant go by smell. However, regardless of the PV, the ONLY time PV fuel can affect anything is when air is flowing past the boosters, meaning your foot is in it. The whole PV recommendation stinks of someone who doesnt understand the operation of Holley carbs Remember vacuum drops during acceleration. The guys are right, a 10.5 PV will open sooner, not later.
